The song leader is chosen and the dancers fall in behind him…women and men alternating. The singer’s call-and-response songs combined with the sounds created by the women’s turtle shell rattles as they dance create a rhythmic sound and movement that spirals the participants counter-clockwise around the central fire. Each song round is different and all seven clans are there to join in with the Stomp Dance celebration as each participant dances into the night!
