I laugh as you loudly protest your entrance into this world. How is it possible for one heart to hold the love bursting free from me?

My tears of joy and wonder join your cries of dismay. So small you are. So fragile. You are sheer potential and possibility. You are love incarnate.

I will wrap my love around you as you begin this blessed life of yours. Fiercely, I will protect you. Gently, I must hold you.

With love ever growing, I will watch you become who you were created to be. We will come to know each other, you and I, on this sacred journey of life.
